The external FM antenna supports mobile phones with built-in FM radio functionality. It can improve reception in locations with weak FM signals and supports connection to an external amplifier or speakers for indoor listening.

The antenna system was developed as a cost-effective accessory for mobile phones with embedded FM radio. Its antenna-chip concept covers the common 87.5–108.0 MHz broadcast band and the 76–90 MHz Japanese FM band.
